In April 1985, Sports Illustrated published one of it’s greatest stories of all time. George Plimpton wrote of a remarkable baseball player known as Sidd Finch. Sidd was said to be able to throw a fastball at 168mph! The tale had baseball fans drooling to see this man who pitched with a work boot on one foot and nothing on the other. His story was fantastic and unbelievable (see Sidd’s story here)!! The only problem: it was a hoax!
