It’s Not Your Mother’s Children’s Lit Anymore!

Dear Mrs. LaRueMost parents want to encourage their children to get into the habit of reading. Much has been written on the benefits but did you know that reading can help improve a child’s attention span or that it can foster better interactions with their peers?

Children’s literature has changed dramatically over the last 25-30 years (take the Harry Potter series as an example). It’s not your mother’s children’s literature anymore and maybe not what you remember either!! Ms. Penny, our wonderful and knowledgeable children’s librarian, can help you and your child find books that will keep their interest and keep them coming back for more. There is nothing that librarians love more than helping you select books which will enable your child to grow a healthy appreciation for reading!
