The DVDs are a grouping of movies, documentaries, concerts, and “how to’s” on digital disks which are available to library users at the M G Parker Library in Dracut. The collection reflects areas of interest such as Hollywood and independent films, children’s movies and animations, self-help, non-fiction and historical topics, comedy, and TV series just to name a few. This group of items is located on the second floor of the library alphabetically by title, allowing the patron the ability to browse the collection in an organized manner and at a leisurely pace. Patrons from other libraries may request these items on the computer via inter library loan after logging into their account.
Highly sought after DVD’s and new releases are labeled as “hot titles” which specifies an abbreviated circulation period and designates Dracut as the drop off location when returning these items. Hot titles may be found on the display on the first floor just outside of the children’s room. Children’s DVD titles are located in the children’s room on the first floor where VHS titles may also be available. A special collection of travel DVD’s highlighting National Parks, vacations abroad, and domestic travel may be found on the mezzanine in the travel section along with travel guides near the audio books collection.
